1 cup whole raw almonds
water + 4 cups water
nut milk bag
optional add ins:
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 tbsp vanilla
pinch of stevia
1 tbsp monkfruit
Add raw almonds to a large bowl and fill with water. Fill with water until almonds are completely submerged. Cover with towel or saran war and let sit overnight.
After 24 hours, use a colander to drain the water and rinse the soaked almonds with water.
Add the soaked almonds to blender with 4 cups of clean water.
Blend until smooth (I let my blender run for about 5 minutes).
Drain milk through a nut bag and squeeze until all of the milk is out.
Add any additional flavoring to milk (vanilla, cinnamon, dates, stevia etc.)
Store in mason jar or airtight container. Last for about 1 week in refrigerator.
tips & tricks
Homemade almond milk is the best alternative to store bought almond milk.
A lot of store brands have additives and sugar.
Meal prep tip: soak a lot of almonds and store extra in freezer.
After soaking almond, let almonds dry and then place in ziplock bags.
Get creative with add ins! The most common are vanilla and cinnamon.
